Let's Get to Work!!

Raised in rural Vermont by her mother, a stay-at-home mom, and her father, a dispatcher at Green Mountain Power, Heidi Tucci learned early on the value of family, hard work, service, sacrifice and giving back to her community.

As a public-school teacher of 33 years, first in the City of Poughkeepsie and then in the Millbrook Central Schools, she has seen, first-hand, the day to day challenges that our citizens face. 

As a proud NYSUT union member and life member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Heidi has acted and spoken out on unfair contracts, unfair working conditions and broken promises.  

As an active member in her church and community, she has served the homeless and the hungry, witnessed their struggles, and listened to their stories.  

As a 37 year resident of Dutchess County, she has witnessed, in disbelief, as our Republican-Led County Legislature has 

- VOTED several times to RAISE THEIR OWN SALARIES (sometimes as much as 81% as Dutchess County working families struggle!

• VOTED to CUT $2.5 MILLION from the Health Department during the COVID PANDEMIC!
• VOTED to spend $25 MILLION of our COVID RELIEF MONEY on upgrades to our MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL STADIUM!
• VOTED to spend up to $100 THOUSAND to sue the state for trying to align elections to increase voter participation in local elections!
• VOTED to INCREASE property taxes and REFUSED to LOWER the County sales tax!
• WASTED MILLIONS on poorly planned and/or failed capital projects!
